  • FAQs | ABC Ministries

Shows our frequently asked questions and responses to serve our community and members. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) (We will continue to update this page as questions/concerns arise) Why is the website skewed when I look at it on my phone? The new website is developed as a webpage domain. It can be viewed on your mobile device, but some information will be difficult to read and/or search. We are working towards acquiring a mobile app domain in the future to render this issue. 2. Is there a public link to our international missions? All our current domestic and international missions are listed on our website under the “Missions” tab. 3. How much is the processing fee for Tithing or Donations if I do it through the website? Our website is set up to process payments with a debit or credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal. The list of processing fees are located on the Donation/Tithe page. If you choose to use this method, simply add the cost of the fee to your intended tithe/donation amount, and the church will receive your entire payment. Example: If you want to pay $100 to tithe, the fee for using a debit/credit card is 2.9% + $.30. Your total payment is $103.20. 4. Can I cancel my reoccurring tithing? Yes, simply contact Melissa Dickson and request a cancellation. 5. Is my bank account information stored in the system? The only payment information stored in the system is the debit/credit card used. The format does not require a bank account or routing number to process a payment. Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal are tied directly into your individual bank account so there is not need for us to have it in our system. No. The website is set up to have each individual active member sign up, so the church has a current Membership Directory built into the website. In addition, each member signs up to build a profile, which is associated with other interactive tools used on the website. 6. Do we need a privacy form signed to have the children’s photos on the website? Posting our photos on the ABC website is no different than posting pictures on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other social media. We do have a Privacy Policy statement on the home page of the website, so the church is not held liable. Most of our photos are taken from our FB site where they are posted by friends and family. 7. Is there a way to sign-up my whole family rather than having to sign up individually? 8. Families with small children may not want to have a separate profile for the child. We are working to develop a method to register children without email or phone accounts. This will allow children to be registered as members without the need to have individual profiles. 9. Can we add some kind of authentication code to make sure it’s really you signing in? The best way to do this is by locking down the website and using log in credentials. The church has opted not to lock down the website to leave it open to the public. However, for an individual to access the Members Directory, ABC Groups, and Profiles, one must have the church password, which is only sent out to registered active members of the church. 10. Who approves the members on the website? Each sign-up request is processed through a workflow process on the website and reviewed against the current Pastor’s list of active members. So essentially, the Pastor is the final approval of all requests.

  • Receiving Christ | ABC Ministries

Receiving Christ Are you looking to know more about a relationship with Jesus and how it can change your life and future, but you’re not sure where to begin? Pathway to Salvation Take the next step by telling others about your decision and by following Christ’s example with Baptism . Below we provide three easy steps to get started on your relationship with God. 1. Admit that you're separated from God by your sin. Realize that you need God in your life and you can’t fix you. - Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2. Believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty of death for your sins and that He was raised from the dead to assure you of life. -Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - 2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 3. Commit to trust Jesus to be your Lord and Master. - Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Luke 9:23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Express the above thoughts in a conversation with God it’s called prayer. In your own words confess your need for forgiveness and receive His free gift of redemption. His grace is your gift. - Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

  • Our Story | ABC Ministries

This site is owned and operated by Andersonville Baptist Church and for church use only. Andersonville Baptist Church (ABC) was founded on September 6, 1839 with 12 members. Baptisms in the olden days were held in the nearby Tugaloo River. Many of the pastors and members of ABC were from Georgia and had to cross the Tugaloo River on the Andersonville Ferry to attend church services. Due to several floods, a second church was built on property decided and recorded on July 23, 1904. Members worshipped in the second building, which was an old wooded one, until construction began on the Hartwell Dam and forced the members to move that church building. The site is now underwater. On Sunday, April 28, 1956, the members voted to purchase three acres of land from Mr. Will Loskoski, which is our present site. The members voted to buy the brick sanctuary of the Shirley Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, which was located about 1/2 mile down the road from the site already purchased. The brick was removed, the building was moved, and then covered with siding. The building still stand today. On Sunday, October 14, 1956, services were held for the last time in the old church. When the old building was torn down, members were amazed to discover it had been put together with wooden pegs. Although the location of the town and church are now covered with water, the remembrance of how God blessed us there will never be forgotten. When the membership had surpassed 200, there was a need for a larger sanctuary. A ground breaking was held on February 10, 1972, and the new building was completed in July. The first service was held on August 5, 1972. This is the fourth sanctuary in Andersonville's history and is still used for worship today. Due to a continued growth in Sunday School, on March 5, 1987, there was another ground breaking for an addition to the back of the present sanctuary consisting of two stories, 30x60 feet. Located on the top floor are Sunday School classrooms and on the bottom floor, a lengthy Fellowship Hall. A dedication service, which included Sunday School and a time of fellowship, was held in the new addition on Sunday, May 3, 1987. Between 1991-1996, the first Church Council was formed, Sunday School classrooms were added in the old church building, we held our first Missions Fair, we formed the Family Deacon Ministry, we renovated the old church offices to add two more classrooms, enlarged our church vestibule, and paved the back and front parking areas of the old building. From 1998-1999, we conducted our ground breaking ceremony for our 8,400 square foot Multi-purpose building. This building was designed and built to facilitate our events, special celebrations, and children's activities to meet the needs of our growing congregation. Upon completion, we also paved the parking area in front of our new building. As our church continued to grow, between 2015-2022 we remodeled our Sanctuary, we added the new Children's Church building complete with a fenced playground area, and remodeled what is now our Fellowship Hall. We continue to grow to meet the needs of our membership, adding wheelchair ramps and covered walkways, and will continue this growth as God guides us.

  • Baptism | ABC Ministries

What is Baptism? Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Baptism Take the next step through Baptism. Speak with our Pastor, Deacon, or a friend in fellowship about your decision to follow Jesus Christ. Let us know if we can assistance you in choosing a class . We are expected to be baptized. Baptism is subsequent to salvation. It is a public proclamation of your faith in Christ. Matthew 28:19-20 "19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a ] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Acts 2:38-39 "38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” Being baptized shows that we turn away from a life of sin and turn toward Jesus, the only one who can change us.

It's a powerful tool for kids to understand and resist the influences of evil. The armor includes the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of readiness for the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Youth Program (6-12 Grades) (Instructor: Tim Ferebee) Summer Program: "Voices - Who Am I Listening To" by Andy Prime Life is so confusing! There are a myriad of voices clambering for our attention – which one is the ‘right one’? Decisions, rather than being biblical, or good, or even moral, often feel like a stab in the dark, hoping for the best. This third title in the First Steps series looks at the wisdom offered in the book of Proverbs. God has not left us to navigate life as best we can alone – guidance is waiting if we only take the time to look.
